We will begin by going on a 15 minute hike through the coastal hammock (bring appropriate walking shoes). Then we will head to the shore and do some water quality testing using tools that scientists use. We will observe the land and land plants & creatures before venturing into the water with nets to see what we can catch. This location has no running water and only porta potties, so bring what you need to stay hydrated. The class should run about 90 minutes, but feel free to stay afterwards as long as you like.

Who is This For

These programs are designed for students ages 6+, but children ages 4&5 are welcome to participate with parent assistance. We WILL be entering the ocean up to knee deep for some water testing and dip netting, so all students are expected to follow the safety directions provided by the instructor, as there are NO lifeguards present at this location.  The class will have fun, hands-on learning to engage younger kids, while still being challenging and inquisitive for older kids. To keep kids and staff safe, we have some basic guidelines that must be met by all students, so please read the Right Fit page on our website :)

Children 10 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
